Wouldn’t it be lovely if life could always be perfect? Since your life and mine is as yet imperfect, we always find concerns and cares that can become a burden. And with the best of intentions, we try not to fret and worry. Don’t about you, but I have been known to fail in that attempt.
This verse from the Psalm struck me as I was looking at the photo of morning at the beach nearby. Out in the English Channel, dense storm-clouds were rolling in, threatening a downpour. There’s nothing we can do to stop the storm arriving.
What we can do is look back over our experiences so far- and remember that God is in charge. God has been, is, and will be faithful. That compassionate faithfulness is the very nature of God, the One who is Love.
Isn’t that an encouraging thought? Comforting, consoling, hope-inspiring.
Cares will come because we can love. That’s why we feel the cares and worry about the troubles on the way.
Meditate on this powerful truth: and find strength in who God IS.
Psalm 94:19
“When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.”
