After the Squall – Look, See, Pray

Squalls disturbed the night; but the new morning began in glory. As we entered more sheltered waters, my restless sleep faltered and I woke early enough to see the sunrise. The shaded horizon slowly revealed details of the land ahead, as the cloud above caught the glow and illuminated the swiftly calming sea.

In a matter of hours, the comforts of home- first, thanksgiving to the One for keeping me safe.

A Prayer on the Voyage of the Soul

Crossing the line where night yields to light,
I leave sorrows and sad dreams to drown.
Darkness cannot hold, storm winds must fail,
and after the journey, the comforts of home.
Thanks be to Father God!

Voyage over, mind and spirit enriched
by all I have seen and shared;
now is the time to reflect on experience,
selecting memories to keep.
Praise to the Son of God!

Smooth seas and boisterous gales compete,
the peace of stillness, energy of storm-
which taught me most? To rest in calm trust,
or holding to strength in face of a trial?
Both blessings, from the Spirit of God.

Beginnings have endings, as day turns to night;
the circling of Earth brings hope of "yet to be."
Why linger in shadows? Light is far stronger!
There is no End. Love's vastness sinks oceans!
Glory, glory, glory to Almighty God.

John 14 v1-4
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
