Wild Pines- Look, See, Pray

These trees make me feel insignificant. Clinging to precipitous rock, bathed in the cold grasp of drifting cloud, the pines stand tall in the face of a precarious future.

It’s a great place to visit- but a harsh place to live.

“Take one step at a time…” is solid advice. However, when we feel overwhelmed it feels too hard. Strangely, following God is not a guarantee of certainty and clarity- it is journey of faith. When we struggle, it’s good to realise the ones who walked ahead of us also wrestled with life. We have the blessing of reading some of their prayers and debates about God and living in the chaos.

Here are four faith verses: you may find them as helpful as I did today.

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

From the ends of the earth I call to you,

    I call as my heart grows faint;

    lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.

I long to dwell in your presence forever

and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

Psalm 61 v1-4 NIV
