Prayers for Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II
and for His Majesty, King Charles III
O God,
we give you thanks and praise
for the life and reign of our late Queen Elizabeth:
for her seven decades of selfless duty,
for her role as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,
for her grace as a stateswoman,
for her humour and sense of fun,
and, most of all, for her deep and abiding faith in you.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
Amen.
God our Father,
we ask that you would comfort and strengthen
the family of our late Queen.
Grant courage to those
who must bear their loss in the public eye,
grieving while the world watches.
Draw close to them, we pray,
give them light for the dark times
and bring them, with us and all your saints
at the last, to your home.
Amen.
Almighty God,
we ask your blessing upon your servant, King Charles III.
Grant him wisdom and grace in making decisions.
Grant him humility and patience in matters of state.
Grant him joy and love in his family.
And grant him your peace, which passes all understanding,
that he may know and love you,
and serve your people in the strength that you provide.
Amen.
Nunc Dimittis for Her Late Majesty
Now, Lord, you let your servant depart in peace:
your word has been fulfilled.
My own eyes have seen the salvation
which you have prepared in the sight of every people;
A light to reveal you to the nations
and the glory of your people Israel.
Luke 2:29-32

Or send Colin Firth with diamonds. (Actually, forget the diamonds; send Colin Firth.)
But if you cannot afford that, don’t worry at all. Help yourself for free and be blessed.

Confession and Absolution
Give ear, O my people, to my teaching.
Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
Repent and seek God earnestly.
Remember that God is our rock, the Most High, our redeemer.
God is our rock, the Most High, our redeemer.
O God, our hearts have not been steadfast toward you.
God is our rock, the Most High, our redeemer.
We have not been true to your covenant.
God is our rock, the Most High, our redeemer.
Yet you, being compassionate, forgive our iniquity.
God is our rock, the Most High, our redeemer.
Praise to you, O God, for your boundless mercy and grace.
Strengthen us, we pray, to live for your glory,
today and always.
God is our rock, the Most High, our redeemer.
Amen.
Blessing and Dismissal
May God, who so loved the world – who so loved you,
that he gave his only son
so that everyone who believes in him – so that you who believe in him,
might have eternal life,
may this God bless you and keep you,
strengthen and inspire you,
draw you and lead you,
this day and always.
Amen.
As God sent his son into the world, not to condemn it, but to save it,
so God sends you, in the power of his Spirit and in the name of his Son,
to show God’s love by your words and deeds.
Go now, and do likewise.
We will.
Amen.
