The Reflectionary

Before weather forecasting became so technical, people had to rely on their own observations and collected “wisdom.” Even now, the science is not fool-proof: in Britain, the wisest people have a coat or umbrella handy at all times.

Living by the English Channel, the skies constantly tell stories and suggest possibilities. Will that raincloud come inshore, or pass up the coast? This sky was like that. The band of cloud offshore looked quite threatening- but the sunlight turned it into a golden delight. Storm or sun, it was a day of intriguing beginnings! No telling what was to come…

It prompted a short reflection:

Hope lights a candle behind every cloud. 
Faith holds firm in every storm. 
Love makes a difference- and makes trust possible.

I hope it makes its own sense. It reminded me of the words of St Paul so I share those as well.

1 Corinthians 13:13 (NLT)
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—
and the greatest of these is love.

Perhaps the picture is worth your attention: the prayer of “Visio Divina” (holy seeing) invites us to use a picture as the basis and inspiration of our devotional time seeking God in what we see.

Or the Bible verse offers us time to be spent as “Lectio Divina” (holy reading).

May you draw close to the Lord as you seek Him sincerely; may Holy Spirit grace fill this space and time so the peace of Father, Son and Holy Spirit blesses you and leads you into a fresh place of faith, hope, and love. May your trust be rewarded.
