Being – Being Washed

Jesus Washing Peter's Feet 1852-6 by Ford Madox Brown 1821-1893

Come, sit a while.
Take time to rest
and be.
Cease your doing.
Come, sit a while
with me.

Take some time to absorb this picture.

Hear the buzz of conversation around the table. What is everyone saying? What are they thinking but not saying?

Smell the food and the body heat, sense the mood. What does this evening mean?

Look at Peter. What is he feeling at having his feet washed? Why is that?

Feel the cool water on your hot feet, the rough cloth, the strong hands. How would you feel, having your feet washed?
