It’s lovely to see some flowers for Christmastime. Just in time, the hellebores have come up trumps! Despite wind, frost and short days these resilient beauties have opened up for our pleasure.
Just over a week to go until Christmas. Cards to be written, presents to wrap, food to gather. It won’t be a BIG party this Christmas, just family and a friend- but things need to be planned, sorted, and done. There’s always something left to the last minute- or forgotten until (almost?) too late. Since I don’t want to depress you by pointing out all you haven’t done yet, just remember that “just in time” is fine!
In fact, some of the most important things are time-sensitive. Getting help when you NEED it matters: too early, no point; too late, even less point! Just at the RIGHT time, please.
The apostle Paul wrote to some Christians with sound advice and a wonderful reminder: make the most of the opportunities- and trust God to be on time!
The Message: 2 Co 6:1–2. Companions as we are in this work with you, we beg you, please don’t squander one bit of this marvellous life God has given us. God reminds us, "I heard your call in the nick of time; the day you needed me, I was there to help."
That’s Christmas. Just in time, at the right time, the Son of God was born, the Prince of Peace. So if this Christmas threatens to get on top of you, remember that. God’s got it covered!
Have a peace-filled, wonderful Christmas! God IS with us.
