As the cloud cleared the rays of sunshine burst through, dividing the sky. The brightness made the sea look dark in contrast. Along the horizon stood the tall wind turbines, now fully operational.
It made me think about the way our lives & gadgets demand power. Without electricity, our society would be in chaos within hours. Here before my eyes sun, wind and tide promised a clean supply of energy if we are only willing to make it work. No more toxic gas, no fracking, no more oil drilling and massive spills. God has provided the means and opportunity to supply our needs. Eco-friendly power is available!
How much better for ALL the Earth.
We take electric power for granted until the supply is cut off – or when we have to pay our bill. Putting pressure on governments and corporations to “go green” should be our responsibility: the human race are designated as stewards of Creation according to the Bible. We’ve not always done a good job…
Power for our spiritual life is also necessary. If we were left to our own resources, we’d fail miserably. Jesus promised we would receive an “internal” connection to the very existence of Almighty God; power to love, live, and serve: – Acts 1:8 (NLT) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
May the promise be a true experience for us all, and out of that love may we share what God gives us.
