Retired, married to Juliet, and a Christian who loves books, writing, music, nature, gardening, and photography. I'm exploring prayer and spirituality, using my photos to reflect on God and how faith fits into real life: and I hope to stimulate and encourage others to meet with Jesus. Health really matters- and you value it most when there is a risk of losing it! I was unexpectedly diagnosed with colonic cancer, and had successful surgery late in 2019. Love the NHS, God bless them). I am still living with a life-changing condition of fibromyalgia and trying to support others with this illness and other "invisible illnesses." Life has been changed but hope burns eternal. Faith has a deep relevance in good times and tough ones, in sickness and in health. God has been good in my life and has been with me in all these varied experiences.

The photo is a very ordinary (but beautiful) zinnia, adorned by a Small White butterfly. Easy to ignore. Yet closer examination sees the golden “crown” in the zinnia’s centre; and the butterfly is delicately constructed and carefully marked. As it sucks up nectar, fuel for its next fluttering dance, it rests even as it contrasts magnificently to the flower and neutral green background. Isn’t it lovely? … More Deciding the Value- Look, See, Pray

A mountain stream at full bore… collecting water from the high peaks and plateaus, it throws itself headlong towards the sea. It has the energy to carve slowly through rocks, and collects minerals to feed the farmlands far below. Exuberant life! … More Living Water! Look, See, Pray
Cows are fortunate not to have computers, radios or TVs to worry them with the latest absurdities and hatreds that afflict our supposedly “superior” intelligence and way of life. Chilled milch… contentedly mooving in the mooment! … More Chilled Milch- Look, See, Pray
For a brief moment we thought we only had a screw loose (no comment, please!) or a cable adrift. A glimmer of hope… the TV is still working… but doom followed fast. The Box of Magic beneath was busted. It turned up its toes and is deceased, to broadcast never more. … More Busted! Look, See, Pray
Why a wild flower photo? I came across it in the wild flower bed I set up this spring- I’ve never seen one before, it may have been in the seed mix- or a gift from a passing bird. A lone outcast surviving in the wilds. So it seemed appropriate. Anyway, here’s the lyric for “Outcast.” … More Outcast- Look, See, Pray
