An unknown flower. It was growing near the ruins of an old Priory; thrusting out from wild climbing
brambles, about 10 showy-but-crumpled blooms. Cinderellas, emerging from the scullery, ready to go to the ball.
I don’t know how many people saw this beauty: I was off the beaten track, and only one tiny hoverfly saw me take the picture. Wasted beauty?
Not really. I saw it, the insects enjoyed it, and now for a brief moment its fame has spread to your phone/tablet or computer. This flower has brought joy to us… now it has been digitised, it may flutter for ever as a stream of electrons ready to pop out on a screen and bring beauty to a thirsty soul. Joy lasts forever. Thanks be to God!
