It’s here! Oh, yes, it’s here! The long-awaited, much-vaunted and over-hyped Christingle Beanie! The world’s most stunningly awesome way to tell folks about Jesus, the Light of the World! Yay!
(I did warn you it was over-hyped.)
Companion to last week’s Christingle Bauble, this is a full-sized, wearable Christingle in two versions. One is a ready-to-wear hat that you can slap on your head for carol singing, crib service or just for popping down the shops. The other has separate pieces for use in a Christingle talk. You can talk about the pieces and add them as you go. See the resources included with last week’s post as examples.
There are two sizes included, for child and adult, although either will fit both. You can also choose whether to knit the hat flat or in the round. (If you don’t know what that means, ask your granny.)
OK. I’ve teased you long enough, here’s a pic. In fact, here are several pics. Thanks to Katherine and Steve for being my models.
Below is a link to the pattern. It’s free because I believe this stuff is important, but it took me ages to write and even more ages to knit (about a week at top speed), so if you find it useful, please consider donating to support this ministry. Or buy my books and leave lovely reviews. Or at least send me an encouraging email, ty xx.

i am struggling to see how you construct the whole thing, attachments etc. Can you help

hHi Sweetie, thanks for your enquiry. If you are making this for a Christingle talk, there is no assembly. You make a hat, a band, four sticks of sweets and a candle (with ties) all separate. Then you put them on your volunteer as you talk. Hat first, red band around that (forehead level), then the sticks (tuck them inside the red band and the hat turn up), then the candle (tie it under the chin).
if you are making this as a one piece, you simply sew the items to the hat where they would be if you did the above. Note that the sticks are sewn to the sides of the hat, not the top.
does that help?
blessings Fay xx
