The strangest day in 2003 was undoubtedly the Eclipse. Typically for Britain, the sky over us was mostly cloudy- we even wondered if we’d see the eclipse at all. The clouds grew patchy, and the disk of the Sun could be seen as a full white circle against a dark-ish background. Gradually the disk was … More Growing Dark- Look, See, Pray
How’s it going so far? Advent flurry kicked in yet? If not, brace yourself. Next Sunday is Christ the King and then it’s downhill all the way until you are drowning in mince pies and eggnog, and if another person asks if you’re ‘ready for the big day’ you’ll throw your Carols for Choirs at … More Advent “Ahhhhh”
Bonfire night is over, so it must be time for the Advent resources. Here’s a handy-dandy guide to loads of my Advent printable crafts, patterns, recipes (sort of). Use them for Messy Church, Christmas fairs, schools/family events, Christingles crib services and outreach events. There will be more coming soon – colouring, puzzles etc – but … More Advent Stuff

If you can remember nine years ago, feel free to skip to … More Cat litter & felt balls

With that in mind, I have some useful lectionary resources for those of you who need such things, and a load of … More Happy New Year!
It’s here! Oh, yes, it’s here! The long-awaited, much-vaunted and over-hyped Christingle Beanie! The world’s most stunningly awesome way to tell folks about Jesus, the Light of the World! Yay! (I did warn you it was over-hyped.) Companion to last week’s Christingle Bauble, this is a full-sized, wearable Christingle in two versions. One is a … More Christingle Beanie
Yes, I know, It’s not even Hallowe’en yet, let alone Remembrance Sunday or Advent. But these things have a habit of creeping up on us, don’t they? So this week I bring you an adorably cute mini-Christingle Bauble, and next week it will be the audacious Christingle Beanie (assuming that I’ve finished knitting the prototype … More Christingle Bauble!
Strangely mesmerising… the brilliant scarlet is eye-catching, but I keep looking at the golden “thread” round the centre of the flower. I don’t know enough botany to know what those bright yellow strands are for- something to do with pollination, probably- so my eye treats them as a decoration! The picture become a glorious pattern. Spotting “golden … More Golden Thread- Look, See, Pray
