A Psalm of Summer- Look, See, Pray
Hope rises gentle from soft southern lands, airs chasing Jack Frost home to the North- promising summer’s heat and the birds of the South. … More A Psalm of Summer- Look, See, Pray
Retired, married to Juliet, and a Christian who loves books, writing, music, nature, gardening, and photography. I'm exploring prayer and spirituality, using my photos to reflect on God and how faith fits into real life: and I hope to stimulate and encourage others to meet with Jesus. Health really matters- and you value it most when there is a risk of losing it! I was unexpectedly diagnosed with colonic cancer, and had successful surgery late in 2019. Love the NHS, God bless them). I am still living with a life-changing condition of fibromyalgia and trying to support others with this illness and other "invisible illnesses." Life has been changed but hope burns eternal. Faith has a deep relevance in good times and tough ones, in sickness and in health. God has been good in my life and has been with me in all these varied experiences.

I have mixed feelings as April ends. It happens every year when the daffs in the garden finally finish their cheery display; there is usually a bit of a break between their passing and the next influx of colour. This year I have marked it by photographing the “Last Trumpet of Spring.” The trumpet is still big, brassy and bold but the other petals are fading fast. Yet the warm spring sunshine glows through it- at first glance it is still gorgeous. But change is coming and the daffodils are departing. … More Sad Trumpet- Look, See, Pray
It’s now at the point where the front garden is looking decent, and waiting patiently for the plants to perform their colourful dance of the seasons. Time to put my feet up? No chance! … More Pick your flowers – Look, See, Pray
We like to attribute human emotions and actions to animals, especially when they adopt a pose like this otter! So please pardon my whimsy… Perhaps these creatures know more than we think. … More Contemplation- Look, See, Pray
I was fascinated by the light trails. Other people walked on by, not really looking, and certainly not noticing. I took the photo that anyone else could have taken- but didn’t. … More Weaving With Light- Look, See, Pray.

I’ve developed my forgettory-cum-losing-ability to a high level. “It was in my hand a minute ago!!!” is a wail frequently heard Chez Nous. Combs, keys, USB stick, pen, phone, letter from the doctor, wallet (!)… Almost anything can and does go missing and I am left looking like this squirrel. It’s SO frustrating! … More Lost it! – Look, See, Pray
Standing in the warm and moist air, entranced by hundreds of fluttering jewels dancing about and seeking the sweetness of nectar, it felt a bit like being in the Garden of Eden. … More Hidden Strength- Look, See, Pray
Today, the eternal battle rages between the sea and shore. Immense energies are unleashed when the wave has travelled with the wind at its back- and then hurls itself into an explosion of spray and a boom that shakes the world. … More Cling on- Look, See, Pray
Some love the suet/seed balls, or a stuffed coconut shell. Robins and blackbirds are VERY partial to dried mealworms. Sunflower kernels go like hot cakes. Peanuts (chopped small in nesting season so chicks don’t choke) thrill the tit families, finches and pigeons. Am I thanked? No. Or trusted? Not yet. But while I can help feed them, I choose to do so. That’s reward in itself. … More Feasting Greenfinch- Look, See, Pray
